Resizing and Bead Sizes
There will be a $10.00 re stringing charge (plus shipping) for any item that has to be resized due to inaccurate sizing on behalf of the customer.
Standard Jewelry Sizes:
Bracelets 7.5 inches
Chokers 16 inches
Standard Necklace 18 inches
Anklets 9.5 inches
Since we sell many beaded bracelets to our customers here is a helpful hint when measuring for a bracelet. Measure snuggly to your wrist where you would place your wrist watch. Now add 1 to 1.25 inches, depending on how loose you prefer your bracelets.
* Please note that sizes are not exact. Length will vary slightly depending on design and size of the beads. If there are larger beads (12mm or larger) you may need to get a larger size, see bead sizes below.
Approximate Bead Sizes
Large - 12mm and greater (add about an 1/8 to 1/4 inch when measuring)
Medium - 8mm to 10mm
Small - 6mm or less
Repairs
If your piece has broken during normal wear within 60 days, you may return it for repairs (return shipping is non-refundable). Please contact us first before returning your item. Additional charges may apply if any components are damaged from misuse or improper shipping. We will notify you of the extra charge via email or phone. Please provide contact information when you return you item to arrange for any additional payment due.
Sales Tax
Bonnico Jewelry Designs charges 5.1% sales tax to all orders shipped within the state of Wisconsin. We do not ship any orders outside the United States at this time.

Here are a few facts on some of the components we use in our designs.
Lampwork Glass – Lampwork beads range from the simple to extremely complex. An artist makes these beads using a rod called a mandrel, sticks of glass and a torch. They melt the glass with the torch and swirl it onto the mandrel and can do one or many layers to get all sorts of effects. They can also add decorations like flowers, dots and ribbons by placing tiny strings or dots of molten glass on the bead. This results in beautiful beads that are truly unique in its design and shape. They make a great addition to our designs!
Swarovski ® Crystal – These fine crystal beads from Austria exceed all others in terms of quality and elegance are considered the finest products of their kind in the world.
Celestial Crystal TM – These crystals glisten like a pure, shimmering dewdrop that flashes light and color in all directions. Handmade in the Orient from genuine, fully leaded crystal glass, making each bead minutely different and giving our designs a unique handmade look.
Czech Fire polished Glass – Czech glass is Fire-polished and machine faceted, then polished by glazing inside a red-hot oven. This gives them beautiful, glistening colors with a 'softer' look and smoother feel.
Freshwater Pearls – These pearls are cultivated from freshwater mollusks found in lakes and rivers in China, Japan and the United States. This makes them a more affordable alternative to the rare, more expensive saltwater pearls. Freshwater pearls are also available in many colors, shapes, and sizes and add a gorgeous look to our designs.
Semiprecious gemstones - These natural beads have to be the most enjoyable for us to hand select. Semiprecious gemstones make up the largest percentage of all gemstones by far which range greatly in value, color, quantity, and popularity. These natural stones can be found all over the world and are available to us in many different shapes, sizes, and textures from our Earth’s own palette.
Sterling Silver and Bali Silver - We use only sterling silver beads and findings which consist of 0.925% pure sterling silver in each of our designs. Unlike silver-plated, 0.925% sterling silver avoids scratching and chipping and lasts much longer. Because most Bali Silver components are individually crafted from sterling silver by numerous artisans, there may be slight variations in size, form and oxidation.
Gold-filled Beads - We use gold-filled beads instead of gold plated in our designs. Gold filled beads are made by using heat and pressure to apply a layer of karat gold to a base of less costly metal such as Sterling Silver. This produces a surface with karat gold much thicker than gold plating. The minimum layer of karat gold must be equal at least 1/20th of the total weight of the item, use care when buffing these beads. Gold fill is 50 to 100,000 times thicker than regular gold plating. Because pure 14kt gold is a very soft metal and can dent easily next to other beads, gold filled beads are preferable for this type of jewelry.
Vermeil - Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a process that combines precious metals to produce semi-fine quality jewelry. The inside core is sterling silver, the outside is a thin coating of 14 karat gold.
21 strand Soft Flex® Wire – This wire is used in most of our designs. Soft Flex® Wire is constructed of 21 micro spun, marine quality, stainless steel wires woven together and then nylon coated. It is hypoallergenic and can be worn in and out of salt or fresh water. It is one the most flexible and knottable stainless steel jewelry wires available. It may be a bit more expensive, but it is superior for holding its shape and resisting kinks.
Helpful Jewelry Hints
All our handcrafted beaded jewelry will be shipped in air tight zipper bags. If your jewelry is silver this can eventually tarnish from exposure and everyday wear. Tarnishing is a natural process caused by oxidation, and does not damage your silver. We recommend storing it in the zipper bags.
If your piece becomes tarnished, this can be removed by gently rubbing the piece with a soft, treated polishing cloth. Polishing cloths may be purchased from a local jewelry or department store.
We do not recommend using tarnish-removing creams or dips on any of our beaded jewelry. Using these creams or dips may remove the oxidation that is used in the grooves on some of our Bali Silver beads. This process gives your piece quality depth or sometimes even an antique look. Never use these cleaning solutions on pearls as they may lose their original luster.
Depending on your individual lifestyle and wear and tear on your beaded bracelet you should have your bracelet periodically re strung to prevent breakage or loss.
Finally, you should avoid wearing your beaded jewelry while washing dishes, cleaning with chemicals, swimming or anything else where the jewelry would come into contact with abrasive soaps or chemicals. We recommend you do not sleep in your jewelry as this can cause stress on the moving parts which may weaken them.
